Hikes in the Rockies II
Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado
About This Activity
For hikers looking to escape the Bear Lake crowds, RMNP's less-trafficked trails offer equally stunning scenery with more solitude. The Fern Lake Trail (9 mi RT) passes through old-growth forest and past two beautiful lakes. Cub Lake (4.6 mi RT) winds through meadows where elk graze. Glacier Gorge to Mills Lake (5.6 mi RT) is one of the most scenic hikes in the park with Longs Peak reflected in the water. These trails are best accessed from the Fern Lake or Cub Lake trailheads. Same timed entry requirements apply in summer.
