About This Activity
John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo was the first undersea park in the US, protecting 70 nautical square miles of coral reefs. Park entry is $8/vehicle. Snorkeling tours run $39-50/adult for a 2.5-hour trip with 1.5 hours of water time. Scuba diving and glass-bottom boat tours are also available. Book in advance — tours fill up fast, especially in winter.
Seasonal note: Best visibility Apr-Oct. Water temp pleasant year-round. Winter can have choppy seas canceling boat tours.
