About This Activity

Le Marais layers six centuries of history into one compact neighbourhood. Place des Vosges — Paris's oldest planned square, built 1612 — anchors the district; from there it's a short walk to Marché des Enfants Rouges (the city's oldest covered market, open Tue-Sun) for Moroccan couscous, Japanese bento, or Breton galettes at communal tables. Rue des Rosiers is the Jewish Quarter's falafel heartland; L'As du Fallafel is the local institution. The Musée Picasso (€14) is within walking distance. Note: Centre Pompidou is closed for renovation until 2030.

Seasonal note: Year-round; Marché des Enfants Rouges open Tue-Sun; Musée Picasso closed Mondays; many galleries closed Mon
