About This Activity

The Marais (Le Pletzl in Yiddish) has been Paris's Jewish heart since the 13th century. Walk Rue des Rosiers (falafel row, visit L'As du Fallafel), see the Agoudas Hakehilos synagogue designed by Hector Guimard (Art Nouveau, 1913), and visit the Mémorial de la Shoah (free admission) — France's Holocaust memorial with a wall inscribing 76,000 names of Jews deported from France. The museum documents the Vel' d'Hiv roundup and Vichy collaboration. Allow 1-2 hours for the memorial alone.

Seasonal note: Open year-round; Mémorial de la Shoah closed Saturdays and on Jewish holidays; open Sun-Fri (Thu until 10 pm)
