About This Activity

Sainte-Chapelle was built by Louis IX in 1248 to house the Crown of Thorns and other Passion relics — its upper chapel is sheathed in 1,113 biblical scenes rendered in stained glass, regarded as the finest surviving Gothic glazing in Europe. Entry costs €13 and includes an audio guide; timed-slot booking online avoids queues. The chapel sits within the Palais de Justice complex and is easily combined with Notre-Dame, a 5-minute walk away. Allow 45–60 minutes inside.

Seasonal note: Year-round; sunny days light up the windows most brilliantly in morning; open daily 9 am-7 pm (Apr-Sep), 9 am-5 pm (Oct-Mar)
