Polanco Jewish Quarter & Community Walk
Mexico City, Mexico
About This Activity
Polanco is the heart of Mexico City's Jewish community (~50,000 strong — the largest in Latin America after Buenos Aires and São Paulo). Walk the tree-lined streets to see the grand Bet El synagogue, browse the kosher delis and bakeries on Avenida Horacio, and visit the Centro Deportivo Israelita (one of the largest Jewish community centers in the world). The community is uniquely diverse — Ashkenazi, Sephardic, Syrian, and Lebanese Jews coexist with distinct synagogues and cultural organizations for each group.
