Xochimilco's floating gardens (chinampas) date back to Aztec times. Board a traditional trajinera boat decorated with flowers and bright colors to cruise the canals. Mariachi bands serenade from neighboring boats, and vendors paddle alongside selling flowers, elote, and drinks. Private boats cost ~600 MXN/hour (split among passengers); shared colectivo rides run ~90 MXN/person. Best on weekends for atmosphere.
