Spanish Mosque Hike
Chefchaouen, Morocco
About This Activity
The Spanish Mosque (Mosquee Espagnole) sits on a hill northeast of the medina, built by Spanish colonists in the 1920s but never completed. The 30-minute uphill hike from the medina rewards you with the definitive view of Chefchaouen: the entire blue medina spread below against a backdrop of rugged Rif Mountains. It is the most popular sunset spot in town. The trail winds through olive groves and wildflowers in spring.
Seasonal note: Best spring and fall; sunset hike recommended year-round
