Hearst Castle is a National Historic Landmark perched on a hill above San Simeon, built by media magnate William Randolph Hearst between 1919-1947. The estate features 165 rooms, the famous Neptune Pool, 127 acres of gardens, and an extraordinary art collection spanning 5,000 years. Several tour options are available — the Grand Rooms Tour is the best for first-time visitors. Tickets are $35 for adults and $18 for children (5-12). Book in advance as tours sell out.
