Baixa & Chiado Neighborhood Walk
Lisbon, Portugal
About This Activity
Baixa's grid of pombaline architecture leads to the triumphal Arco da Rua Augusta and the vast Praça do Comércio on the Tagus. Ride the iron Santa Justa Lift (€6.10) to reach Chiado's elegant shopping streets and the roofless Convento do Carmo — the 1755 earthquake left the nave open to the sky and the ruins were never rebuilt. One of Lisbon's most distinctive sights.
Seasonal note: Available year-round; Santa Justa Lift queues are longest on summer afternoons — go early
