Wake early to experience the magical sunrise from Haleakala National Park's 10,023-foot summit. Watch the sun emerge above a sea of clouds in the 'House of the Sun.' Park entry is $30 per vehicle; sunrise reservations ($1 per vehicle) are required for entry between 3-7am and book out 60 days ahead on Recreation.gov. Dress warmly — summit temperatures can be near freezing. Consider combining with a downhill bike ride.
