Most tours depart Melbourne at 1:45pm (Oct-Mar) and stop at a wildlife sanctuary before reaching Phillip Island. At sunset, hundreds of little penguins waddle ashore from the sea at Summerland Beach in the world-famous Penguin Parade. Multiple viewing platforms let you watch without disturbing the colony. General admission is A$33 per adult; upgraded viewing (Penguins Plus, Underground) costs A$57-67 extra. Tour packages from A$165 include transport and admission.
