About This Activity
Echidna Walkabout Nature Tours runs small-group full-day tours to natural bushland north of Melbourne, where wild koalas are tracked individually by researchers. You join the wildlife guide to locate koalas in the trees, learn their individual histories, and participate in the Make a Home for Koala habitat restoration project. After lunch, the tour visits plains where mobs of Eastern Grey Kangaroos graze in open forest. All encounters are unscripted and wildlife-led — guides make no guarantees but have an excellent success rate. Price around A$285 per adult.
