Cerro San Cristóbal rises 880 meters above Santiago in the vast Metropolitan Park. Take the 1925 funicular railway to the summit, where a 14-meter Virgin Mary statue overlooks the city. On clear days, the entire Andes cordillera stretches across the horizon. The park also has botanical gardens, pools, and a Japanese garden.
