Valensole Lavender Fields & Gordes Village, Provence
Provence, France
About This Activity
The Valensole Plateau is Provence's most photogenic lavender landscape — thousands of hectares of purple rows peak in late June to the first two weeks of July, with harvest beginning around 20 July (fields turn grey-green post-cut). A car is essential. Combine with the hilltop village of Gordes, one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France, and the Abbaye de Sénanque (its lavender courtyard blooms slightly later than the plateau, usually early July). Free to visit fields from the roadside.
Seasonal note: Peak bloom late June to mid-July; harvest starts around 20 July — fields turn grey post-cut; Abbaye de Sénanque lavender usually peaks early July; a car is essential
