Al Hammam Traditional Baths — Plaka
Athens, Greece
About This Activity
Al Hammam Traditional Baths occupies a historic building in the Anafiotika district of Plaka, steps from the Acropolis slopes. The two-hour ritual follows the classical hammam protocol: a warm welcome tea, progression through cool, warm, and hot steam rooms, a full-body kessa scrub, black soap massage, and a cooling rest. Unlike the historic Bathhouse of the Winds (now a museum around the corner), Al Hammam is a functioning bathhouse. The rooftop terrace offers direct views of the Parthenon over the Plaka rooftops — Greek honey sweets and herbal tea are served after treatments. A 75-minute session costs approximately €49 per person.
