Benaki Museum
Athens, Greece
About This Activity
The Benaki Museum occupies a neoclassical mansion in Kolonaki and houses the private collection of Antonis Benakis — a sweeping survey of Greek civilization from prehistoric times through the early 20th century. Stand-outs include Byzantine icons, Greek Independence-era weapons, traditional embroideries, and reconstructed room interiors from Macedonian and Epirotic mansions. The rooftop cafe-restaurant is excellent for a post-visit lunch. Admission €12.
