About This Activity

Mykonos Town (Chora) is a labyrinth of marble-paved lanes deliberately designed to disorient pirates. The alleys are lined with cube-shaped whitewashed houses, bougainvillea, 400 chapels, and upscale boutiques along Matogianni Street. The key landmark is Panagia Paraportiani — an asymmetric cluster of five fused medieval chapels that is Greece's most photographed church. Start early to walk the maze before heat and crowds build. Handmade leather sandals, fresh galaktoboureko, and the Old Port Archaeological Museum complete a morning well spent.

Seasonal note: Most enjoyable in shoulder season (May–June, September–October); summer crowds are intense by midday.
