Dogsledding with Greenlandic Huskies near Reykjavík
Reykjavik, Iceland
About This Activity
Iceland's original dogsledding kennel operates near Mosfellsbær, north of Reykjavík. In winter, traditional sled runs operate on snow with teams of Greenlandic dogs bred for endurance across Arctic terrain. When snow is absent (typically May–November), the kennel offers dry-land wheeled cart tours — still exciting but without the snow. Snow-based dogsledding is most reliable December through mid-April. The kennel is one of the few in Iceland working with authentic Greenlandic sled dog lineages.
Seasonal note: Snow dogsledding Dec–mid-Apr; dry-land wheeled tours available May–Nov
