About This Activity
Sólheimajökull is an outlet glacier of Mýrdalsjökull, retreating rapidly due to climate change but still offering an incredible icescape of crevasses, moulins, and blue ice formations. A certified glacier guide leads small groups on crampons across the ice for 2–3 hours on-glacier. Tours depart daily from Reykjavík or you can meet at the glacier car park (about 2h south of the city). Year-round availability; current price from Icelandic Mountain Guides is approximately ISK 16,500.
