Laugavegur is Reykjavík's liveliest street, running from Hlemmur food hall at the east end to the old town center. Independent clothing boutiques, record shops, bookstores, and galleries line the route. Top cafés include Sandholt (family bakery, fresh sourdough and pastries), Brauð & Co (cinnamon buns, arrive early), and Té og Kaffi (excellent specialty coffee). The street is also the spine of Reykjavík's nightlife corridor. Budget $10-15 for coffee and snacks.
