Special Tours operates whale watching excursions from Reykjavík's Old Harbor aboard the large, comfortable vessel Andrea. Expert naturalist guides scan Faxaflói Bay for humpback whales, minke whales, white-beaked dolphins, and harbor porpoises. The boat has indoor seating, a café, and wide outdoor observation decks. High sighting success rate April–October; tours run year-round but whale activity is lower Nov–Mar. Current price approximately ISK 12,900–13,900 per adult.
Seasonal note: Peak Apr–Oct; year-round tours but sighting rate lower Nov–Mar. Note: Total solar eclipse Aug 12, 2026 makes this month extra special — eclipse boat tours also depart from Old Harbor.
