Bahá'í Gardens (Hanging Gardens of Haifa)
Haifa, Israel
About This Activity
The Baha'i Gardens are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most stunning garden designs in the Middle East. Nineteen perfectly symmetrical terraces cascade down Mount Carmel, framing the golden-domed Shrine of the Bab. The gardens are immaculately maintained, with geometric hedgerows, fountains, and pathways offering panoramic views over Haifa Bay. Entry is free; a free daily English guided tour at noon (except Wednesdays) descends about 700 steps over 45 minutes. Inner gardens near the Shrine close at noon. Closed on Baha'i holy days.
Seasonal note: Year-round. Terraces open 9am-5pm daily. Closed on Baha'i holy days and Yom Kippur.
