About This Activity

Bari's Città Vecchia sits on a compact limestone peninsula ringed by the Adriatic on three sides — a maze of whitewashed lanes where women still roll orecchiette pasta outside their front doors on Strada dell'Arco Basso (best seen 9–11am on weekdays). The old town clusters three major landmarks within 10 minutes' walk: the Basilica di San Nicola, the Cathedral of San Sabino, and the Norman-Swabian Castle. Walk the sea walls for unobstructed Adriatic views; entry to the old town and sea walls is free.

Seasonal note: Best April–June and Sept–Oct; summer very hot; orecchiette-making visible mornings year-round
