About This Activity

Head to Anacapri on the west side of Capri by local bus (€2) and take the chairlift up Monte Solaro (€14 return) for 360° views across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius. Then descend to the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) — hire a small rowboat (€12) and pay the €18 cave entrance fee to float through the low entrance into the chamber where sunlight filtering through an underwater opening turns the water an electric cobalt blue. Note: the grotto closes when seas are rough; visit early morning for shortest queues.

Seasonal note: Blue Grotto closes in rough seas; summer mornings offer best light and calmer water
