Amalfi Town Day Trip — Cathedral of St. Andrew and Cloister of Paradise
Positano, Italy
About This Activity
Board the Travelmar ferry from Positano to Amalfi (25 minutes, €7 one-way). The Duomo di Amalfi — dedicated to St. Andrew, whose relics are kept in the crypt — is a spectacular fusion of Arab-Norman and Byzantine styles. The Cloister of Paradise (combined ticket with cathedral €3) is a 13th-century burial courtyard with interlaced pointed arches. Lunch on spaghetti alle vongole at a restaurant on the waterfront piazza, then browse the local paper shops — Amalfi invented the art of laid paper in the 11th century. Return ferry by early evening.
Seasonal note: Summer ferry schedules run frequently; town itself is crowded July-August by cruise excursions
