About This Activity
Positano is best experienced on foot at your own pace. Start at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta — the iconic turquoise dome — to see the Byzantine Black Madonna icon, then descend the winding lanes past ceramic-tiled stairways and fashion boutiques selling the town's signature tiered linen dresses. End at Spiaggia Grande (300 metres of pebble beach): the free section to the left fills by 9am, so renting a sunbed (€15-20 for chair and parasol) gives more comfort. Morning light hits the town's coloured buildings perfectly.
