Hike Acadia National Park
Bar Harbor, Maine Coast
About This Activity
Acadia's 158 miles of hiking trails range from easy flat walks to exposed iron-rung climbs. The Beehive Trail (1.6 miles, iron rungs on cliff face) and Precipice Trail (1.6 miles, most exposed trail in the park) are the iconic bucket-list climbs. For a more moderate option, Gorham Mountain (3.2 miles round-trip) offers sweeping views over Sand Beach and the Atlantic. All trails require the $35/vehicle Acadia entrance pass; most are open May through October.
Seasonal note: Trails open May-Oct; Precipice and Beehive closed mid-spring for peregrine falcon nesting (typically Apr-Jul)
