Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel
San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
About This Activity
The Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel is the town's most photographed landmark, with its distinctive pink Neo-Gothic towers rising above the main plaza. Originally built in the 17th century, the facade was redesigned in the 1880s by self-taught mason Zeferino Gutiérrez, reportedly inspired by European Gothic cathedrals. Entry is free (it is an active church -- avoid visiting during Mass). Best photographed at golden hour when the pink stone glows.
Seasonal note: Best Nov-Apr; illuminated beautifully at night
