Essaouira Beach & Windsurfing
Essaouira, Morocco
About This Activity
Essaouira's sweeping Atlantic beach stretches for miles south of the medina, backed by sand dunes and the ruins of the Borj el Berod tower. The town is known as Morocco's wind city, making it one of North Africa's top spots for windsurfing and kitesurfing from April through September. Rental shops and schools line the beach with half-day equipment rental from around 300-500 MAD. For non-surfers, camel rides along the sand and beachfront soccer games provide entertainment, while sunsets over the Atlantic are spectacular.
Seasonal note: Windsurfing best Apr-Sep with strong alizee winds; beach year-round
