Griffith Park is one of the largest urban parks in North America at over 4,300 acres. Its crown jewel is the Griffith Observatory, free to enter since 1935, offering stunning views of the LA basin, Hollywood Sign, and on clear days, the Pacific Ocean. Hike the trails to the Observatory or drive up, then explore the planetarium shows ($10), telescope viewings (free), and exhibits. The park also includes the LA Zoo, Greek Theatre, and miles of hiking trails.
