Braga & Guimarães Day Trip from Porto
Porto, Portugal
About This Activity
Guimarães is where Portugal was born: its UNESCO-listed old town and 10th-century castle mark the country’s founding, and the Dukes of Bragança Palace is one of the finest Gothic palaces on the Iberian peninsula. An hour’s drive south-west, Braga is Portugal’s religious capital, anchored by the Sé Cathedral (12th century) and the iconic Bom Jesus sanctuary with its 581-step baroque staircase. Both cities are easily reached by train from Porto (~45 min each); guided combo tours run approximately €45-55 per person.
Seasonal note: Year-round; spring and autumn most comfortable
