About This Activity

Casa do Infante on Rua da Alfândega, part of Porto's UNESCO World Heritage historic centre, was built in 1325 as the royal customs house and is traditionally recognised as the birthplace of Prince Henry the Navigator (1394). Three floors cover Porto's medieval history, the Roman mosaic pavement excavated below, and the Age of Discovery — the Portuguese expansion that created one of history's most widespread diasporas, from Brazil to Macau to Cape Verde. For families with Portuguese-Brazilian, Azorean, or Cape Verdean heritage it provides essential ancestral context. Adult admission €4; free on Sundays.

Seasonal note: Year-round; free on Sundays
