Galata Tower & Istiklal Street
Istanbul, Turkey
About This Activity
The 67-meter Galata Tower has dominated Istanbul's skyline north of the Golden Horn since 1348, when Genoese colonists built it as a watchtower. The panoramic balcony offers 360-degree views spanning the Bosphorus, Golden Horn, Sultanahmet mosques, and the Asian shore. Afterwards, walk down through Galata's steep cobbled lanes — full of street musicians, vintage shops, and cafés — to the top of Istiklal Street, Istanbul's bustling 1.4-km pedestrian boulevard with its historic red tram.
Seasonal note: Best Apr-Jun and Sep-Nov
