About This Activity
The remote northern district of Capitol Reef, Cathedral Valley is accessible only by high-clearance 4WD vehicle and requires crossing the Fremont River (check water levels at the Visitor Center). The 60-mile loop takes 6-8 hours and features the monumental Temple of the Sun and Temple of the Moon sandstone monoliths, plus sweeping views of the Henry Mountains and Thousand Lake Mountain. No services, cell signal, or water along the route -- come fully prepared. Best visited April through October.
