Explore this famous stretch of road that connects Bryce Canyon with Capitol Reef National Park. Designated as an All American Road, Byway 12 takes you through a diversity of landscapes from slickrock canyons to red rock cliffs, pine and aspen forests, alpine mountains, national parks, state parks, a national monument and quaint rural towns. This higher-elevation road traverses the mountainous terrain of the Grand Staircase, or Escalante National Monument, and provides twists and turns but also spectacular views. If you're making your way between Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef, then you'll explore this road on your way. But, if not, a day trip to explore Scenic Byway 12 is not to be missed.
