Comuna 13 Street Art & Escalators
Medellín, Colombia
About This Activity
Comuna 13 is one of the most remarkable urban transformation stories in the world. Once one of Latin America's most dangerous neighborhoods, it was reborn through community art projects, outdoor escalators (the first in Latin America, linking the steep hillside to the metro system), and social investment. Today it's a vibrant open-air gallery covering entire building facades, with local guides sharing stories of resilience and rebirth. The outdoor escalators are free to ride. Guided tours depart daily from the El Poblado metro station. Budget 3-4 hours.
