About This Activity

Minca is a small mountain village 45 minutes from Santa Marta by mototaxi or shared jeep, sitting at 600m in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. The area is famous for its waterfalls (Pozo Azul and Marinka are popular), excellent birdwatching (Colombia is the world's #1 country for bird species), and small coffee and cacao farms open to visitors. The climate is cooler and greener than the coast. Hammock hostels and eco-lodges make Minca an excellent base for a night or two away from the heat.
