About This Activity
Tayrona National Natural Park is one of Colombia's crown jewels — a protected reserve where the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains meet the Caribbean Sea, creating a dramatic landscape of jungle, granite boulders, and pristine beaches. The most popular access point is El Zaino, 34km east of Santa Marta; from there a 45-minute hike through the forest leads to the beaches of Arrecifes, La Piscina, and Cabo San Juan. Swimming is only permitted at designated calm-water beaches. Camping and eco-lodge accommodation available inside the park. Entry permit required — book well in advance online.
