Playa Blanca near Rodadero (not to be confused with the more famous one in Cartagena) is a beautiful stretch of white sand and calm turquoise water accessible by a short boat ride or walk from Santa Marta. The beach is less crowded than Tayrona's most popular spots and good for swimming year-round. Local vendors sell fresh fish, coconut drinks, and fried patacones directly on the sand.
