About This Activity

Located on Bishop Street in Dublin 8, the National Archives of Ireland holds over 60 million documents covering 200-plus years of Irish public life. For genealogists its collections are unmatched: 1901 and 1911 census returns, Griffith's Valuation land survey, Transportation Registers, Tithe Applotment Books, and estate records documenting millions of ordinary Irish families. Walk-in access to the free Genealogy Advisory Service (staffed by professional genealogists) is available Monday–Friday without a Reader's Ticket.

Seasonal note: Open Mon–Fri year-round; free Genealogy Advisory Service walk-in
