About This Activity

The Gap of Dunloe is a 10km glacial valley cutting between the MacGillycuddy's Reeks and Purple Mountain, passing five small mountain lakes connected by tumbling streams. The path through is free to walk or cycle — bikes can be hired in Killarney town. The classic full day combines cycling or walking the Gap with a boat across the Lakes of Killarney back to Ross Castle. A jaunting car through the Gap costs approximately €60–70 per car (not per person).

Seasonal note: Best May–Sep; path can be muddy and icy in winter
