Bari Cathedral (Cattedrale di San Sabino)
Bar Harbor, Italy
About This Activity
The Cattedrale di San Sabino, Bari's official cathedral, was built in the late 12th century on the ruins of an earlier Byzantine church. It is dedicated to Saint Sabinus, the city's original patron before Saint Nicholas arrived. The church's façade displays refined Apulian Romanesque craftsmanship, with blind arcading and sculpted portals. The interior holds a crypt from the earlier Byzantine structure and a notable collection of sacred art. Less visited than the Basilica di San Nicola, San Sabino offers a quieter, more contemplative experience in the heart of the old town.
Seasonal note: Year-round; best April-June and Sept-Oct when temperatures are pleasant
