Hiroshima Day Trip: Peace Memorial Museum
Osaka, Japan
About This Activity
Hiroshima is 50 minutes by shinkansen from Shin-Osaka. The Peace Memorial Museum (¥200) documents the 1945 atomic bombing through personal testimonies, photographs, and artifacts — a quietly powerful 90-minute visit. The adjacent A-Bomb Dome (UNESCO) stands preserved as it fell. After reflection, Hiroshima is a surprisingly vibrant city: eat Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki (layered, not folded) at Okonomimura food hall, then walk the rebuilt arcade. Combine with Miyajima island (30 minutes by tram and ferry) for a full day across two sites.
Seasonal note: Open year-round
