Okayama & Himeji Castles Day Trip from Osaka
Osaka, Japan
About This Activity
From Shin-Osaka, reach Okayama in 40 minutes and Himeji in 35 minutes by shinkansen. Okayama's black Ujo (Crow Castle) overlooks Korakuen — one of Japan's three great classical gardens. A 30-minute hop reaches Himeji Castle (UNESCO), Japan's finest surviving feudal fortress, with six stories of white lacquered walls rising above the city. The adjacent Koko-en garden is included with castle admission. Pair both sites in a single day trip by taking the early shinkansen from Osaka.
Seasonal note: Cherry blossoms at Himeji late March
