About This Activity
Senso-ji is Tokyo's oldest temple and most visited landmark, drawing 30 million visitors a year. Enter through the iconic Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) with its 700 kg lantern, walk 250 m of Nakamise-dori's snack stalls, then reach the main hall free to enter any time of day. Arrive before 8 am on weekdays to experience the inner sanctum nearly crowd-free; the five-story pagoda and adjoining Asakusa-jinja Shrine complete the complex.
