About This Activity

Portland Head Light (1791) is Maine's oldest lighthouse and one of the most photographed in the US, set dramatically on the rocky shore of Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth. The 90-acre park is free and open year-round — explore the Cliff Walk Trail, the Children's Garden, and the grounds of the former fort. The museum at the lighthouse is open Memorial Day through Columbus Day. Park fee is $3/vehicle. The Well at Jordan's Farm nearby is an excellent seasonal lunch stop.

Seasonal note: Park open year-round sunrise–sunset; lighthouse museum open Memorial Day–Columbus Day
