About This Activity

Troldhaugen was the beloved summer home of Norway's greatest composer, Edvard Grieg, and his wife Nina from 1885 until his death in 1907. Set on a wooded peninsula above the Nordaasvannet lake south of Bergen, the property includes the original Victorian villa (still furnished as when Grieg lived there), his tiny composing hut by the water's edge, and a striking modern concert hall built into the hillside. The hall hosts daily piano recitals of Grieg's music during the summer season — one of Norway's most intimate classical music experiences.
