The San Diego Zoo is consistently ranked among the best zoos in the world, home to over 12,000 animals of 650+ species across 100 acres in Balboa Park. Highlights include the giant pandas (when on exhibit), the African Rocks habitat, and the Skyfari aerial tram. The zoo pioneered open-air, cageless exhibits and leads global conservation efforts.
