About This Activity

The Sacred Valley of the Incas (Valle Sagrado) stretches northwest of Cusco and holds some of Peru's most important archaeological sites. A full-day guided tour visits the hilltop terraces of Pisac, the traditional artisan market, the still-inhabited Inca fortress town of Ollantaytambo, and the textile cooperative at Chinchero where women demonstrate traditional weaving. At 2,800m, the Valley is warmer than Cusco — an excellent acclimatization day. Tours run from $40–60 per person and depart early from Cusco.

Seasonal note: Dry season May–Sep is best; visit on Sunday for the full Pisac market experience. Good as a day-1 activity before full altitude acclimatization.
